HAVING TROUBLE LOGGING IN?
This section is for people who do not own a web site, but are trying to log in to a site
you joined. We do not own or run whatever web site you are trying to log in to, so we can't
look up your account details, but we can provide some advice that works for most sites. Try
copying and pasting your user name and password from the email that you received
when you signed up. By far the most common problem is a mistyped user name or
password. It is not always easy to distinguish between O and 0 (capital letter "O"
versus the number zero "0"), nor l and 1 (lowercase letter "L" versus the number one
"1"), etc. Cutting and pasting the correct user name and password from the email
takes care of any such issues.
Other than that, you'll probably need to contact the people who run that web site
letting them know what your user name is and which site you are trying to access,
as well as any error message you get. If you have trouble finding contact information,
there are four places to look. First, go to the front page of the web site you are trying
to access. Scrolling all the way down to the bottom of the page, many sites have a
"contact" or "support" link at the bottom of the front page. If you don't see it there,
click to go to the second page, usually a button marked "enter" or "next". Check the
bottom of that page for a contact or support link. If you don't see a link there, click
like you were going to join the site again. Typically you'll click a link marked "join",
"get access now", etc. Click until you get to the page which asks for your credit card
number, checking each page for a contact link. The page where they ask for your credit
card number almost always has a contact or support link. Also there is sometimes better
contact information on the page right before it asks for your credit card information.
If you have already emailed the company which runs the site, do NOT call us looking for
faster service. We cannot do anything more to help you. The only thing we can do to
help anyone is to guide you through the site looking for contact information. Essentially,
we'll just read you the paragraph above over the phone. We cannot give out a phone
number or any other contact information that isn't on the site already. If you call and
wake us up at 2:00AM, we won't even read the above instructions to you. Rather, we'll
probably just say something that will make you mad.
